More recreation options needed

Mr. Rettke, the next time you deal with the borough on these matters make a note of it on Sitnews. If it is at a public meeting I would certainly be there to back you!

I agree - the activities for youth are extremely limited in this community, yet it does not have to be this way. Paint guns are great! I love them - would like to see some kind of business that lets people run wild in a controlled environment.

Four wheelers - since I'm a little older I can recall when three wheelers were the rage and I loved riding those as well!

Naturally you're going to get some feedback from people who think we have enough of something for young people - that's their world and they can have it. It's not only young people looking for the hard and fast fun - we'd all like a piece of it!

If the people in Sitka can vote to place a skateboard park on their waterfront property off of Halibut Point Road, then we should certainly be able to expand our "fun tools" with just the same type of logic!

And if people think our younger generation already have enough to do, let me remind you of what the GREAT Ken Lewis always points out - even in the All American Sport of Baseball, our kids only get a minimal amount of playing time - to which they exercise every minute into the sport they love.
