Thorne Bay, Alaska - Fourteen-year-old Thorne Bay resident Ethan Cook is in Washington, D.C. to participate in today's presidential inauguration processional and ceremony.

Cook was invited by the White House to take part in the ceremony as a result of his participation in the Presidential Youth Leadership Conference, a program of LeadAmerica, a national non-partisan educational organization. The conference organizer, LeadAmerica, forwarded Cook's name to the White House for consideration.

Cook traveled to Washington, D.C. this week to attend classes through the program and participate in the processional and inauguration of the President.

The governor's office is providing financial support for boarding and per diem expenses while Cook is in Washington, D.C.

Cook is on track to complete all courses for high school graduation this year. He excels in math computation and is active as a volunteer in his community.
