TRUST AND PLANNING FOR THE FUTURE By Bobbe McCreary January 23, 2006
This public outcry is not about the Chamber of Commerce, it is not about Bobbie McCreary nor Dave Rubin, it is not about J.C. Conley, and it not even about the docks or tourism. In my opinion, this is about a community that needs to come together around planning a healthy and vibrant future together. We are a community badly in need of trusting each other, of learning how to listen to each other. From comments I have heard, the past was one of controlling things behind the scenes and the distrust that resulted. People thought they were being taken advantage of; that they could not speak their opinions without fear of retaliation. Now we have the opportunity to rally around building for the future of our community in keeping with the past, to listen actively and to find common ground. When we look together at the future, everyone can win. Bobbie McCreary
