Our community here in Ketchikan is a wonderful place to live. The only thing I do not understand is why there are so many fast drivers here. I have, on many occations, had people pass me on the highway as I was following the speed limit. Could anyone tell me why on this island that speeding, putting themselves and others in danger of a possible fatal wreck, is necessary? When I lived in the bigger cities of Texas, road rage was a typical thing, but here in Ketchikan? Let's really think about all the fatalities that have happened and ask ourselves, "Is my life worth taking the risk?". I love the laid back atmosphere here in Alaska and am asking that everyone stop and think about the families who have lost loved ones because someone was in a hurry to get someplace in our quaint small town that has just ONE highway that is only about 18 miles north and about 13 miles south.
