Airport Shuttle CLose Down
By Neil Gray
January 03, 2007
Wednesday PM
I was sorry to read about the closure of the Ketchikan Airport
Shuttle. I drove many a trip for the KAS back in the early days.
Many a story could be told about the trips people like Larry
Erickson, myself, and many others made at all hours of the day.
We transported famous people like Jonathan Winters, vacationers
and travelers from all over the world, and TONS of many of our
local residents and best friends.
Many memories stand out from those trips. Especially for me,
the time I had a van load of workers headed to KPM for shutdown
maintenance, and the times I drove the women bowlers headed to
the State Bowling Tournaments.
It's too bad something couldn't be worked out. I think all former
drivers should get together and write a memoir book! It's a
service lost. Also, it helped me getting experience to drive
for Cloud 9 shuttle in San Diego for a a time!
Hi Ken, Hi Bob. Sorry to see the shuttle close up shop.
