Tribal Members, It's Time
for Change

KIC Tribal members, it's time for change. It took hard work
and perseverance for KIC to be built up to the status many members
enjoy today, a status that can easily be lost by mismanagement
of funds due to a lack of qualified employees.
The government funding that provides services to all tribal members
is not a given, it is only a given when managed correctly. If
KIC doesn't hire competent management and allow management to
do its job based on the policies set by the council, it will
only be a matter of time before the Ketchikan Indian Community
sign comes down and is replaced with S.E.A.R.C.H.
Everything that has transpired in the last year financially and
managerially should concern every member. It is time to ask
for financials and minutes that will tell the story of where
we are today with the council we have allowed to lead us.
Sam Bergeron hit the nail on the head in his letter "Basic
Roles and Responsibilities in Government". It's time we
elected proven leadership to the council and support Sam Bergeron
& Richard Jackson.
