Free visit to UA campuses Jan. 18 – right from your laptopJanuary 14, 2011
Representatives from University of Alaska Fairbanks, University of Alaska Anchorage and University of Alaska Southeast will be available to chat live about admissions, scholarships, financial aid and campus life. Presentations with experts from UA campuses across the state will be held every hour. Prospective students will be able to watch videos highlighting each campus, view and download materials about programs and resources at the system’s three largest campuses, and speak with current UA students about what it’s really like to attend classes at a particular campus. In addition to general financial aid information, special presentations will be available on the new Alaska Performance Scholarship and the UA Scholars Program. “University of Alaska’s Virtual Preview Day is a special opportunity for prospective students, their parents, high school counselors and anyone else interested to learn more about one, or all, of our three major campuses in an interactive, online environment,” said UA President Pat Gamble. “Our campus environments are unique and distinct from each other, as are many of the programs they offer to students. I urge everyone interested to login to CollegeWeekLive Virtual Preview Day for the University of Alaska and check us out.” CollegeWeekLive is a free, online event designed to connect prospective students with colleges and universities in a live, interactive forum. This virtual presentation also may appeal to older, working, part-time or returning students who may not have the time or desire to attend a typical college fair geared toward high-school aged students.
