Shootin' Leads to Arrest of Ketchikan Woman

After an eight hour standoff, at approximately 8:30 am Dewitt appeared at the front door and surrendered to troopers without further incident. Investigation revealed Dewitt had discharged a firearm numerous times from inside the Saxman home. Individuals within the home were able to exit the residence without injury. Further investigation revealed Dewitt caused approximately $1,000.00 worth of damage to the residence and belongings inside. Alcoholic beverage consumption is believed to be a contributing factor. Dewitt was transported to the Ketchikan Correctional Center where she was remanded on Misconduct Involving Weapons II, Misconduct Involving Weapons IV, Assault III (Domestic Violence) x4, Reckless Endangerment x 5, Criminal Mischief III (Domestic Violence) and held without bail. No injuries were reported.
