Open Letter: Unemployment By Forrest A. Mackie January 15, 2014
Why did none of you Alaska politicians not stand up and tell those yahoos that the bridge to Gravina was not a bridge to nowhere, but a bridge to our airport!!!! We have anywhere from half a million to a million people (including the yahoos who came and took pictures, and politicians) come here and do business every year!! Not one of you so called Alaskans even spoke up!! What exactly is your job any way?? According to the TV you folks only work Tuesday thru Thursday and call in the rest of the time!! I don't remember any of you speaking up when the KPC was allowed to shut down, and then you folks allowed the Whitehouse yahoos and Sarah gone lately, to take away the money that Ted Stevens got us for our bridge to our airport. Alaska has always kept its politicians there term after term because it allowed them some extra power, but apparently this is wasted and we better rethink our priorities and get some new blood!! I also would like to know where are all of these Gay Alaskans that you are standing up for and trying to get favors for?? I am a 59 year Alaskan and am very proud of all my longtime Alaskan friends who I know and the struggles that we all had to overcome to still be here, but please advise me that what I am seeing is not what it appears!! You folks also did not vote unemployment extensions for people that would spend the money here in our country!! If it was going oversees it would have probably been voted in!! God Help us!!!! We have a serious problem, called politics and yahoos!! Forrest A. Mackie
