Veterans Transportation Grant Awarded
January 10, 2015
Effective immediately, the IFA is authorized to issue both passenger and vehicle ticketing to veterans when traveling in conjunction with healthcare needs, advises IFA General Manager Dennis Watson. To qualify for this no cost program, Positive Veterans Affairs, U.S. Armed Forces (Retiree), Alaska drivers license or ID card with VA endorsement is required. Travel under this VA courtesy transportation program applies on the IFA’s daily service between Hollis and Ketchikan, and also between Metlakatla and Ketchikan from January 10 through February 9, when the IFA will provide alternate Annette Island service while the state’s M/V Lituya is undergoing annual maintenance. The IFA’s M/V Stikine will utilize the Port Chester ferry terminal at Metlakatla.
