I do, however, take exception to the accusations of probable comments at the bottom of report cards, etc. I am completely confident in saying that no one who knows my daughter would refer to her as "bored and listless". Quite the opposite in fact.... but in a new area, kids are shy at first. It takes time to make friends and discover what the others are doing to occupy their free time. I also spent many years in Ketchikan. In fact, I was a pretty busy teenager. I clearly recall the activities that I pursued. I was quite efficient at "doing my own thing" during the hours I was not working or doing my studies. I made some poor choices and I happen to want more for my child. I would be an irresponsible parent if I felt any different. The activites that you chose as a young boy/man are not necessarily those that ALL would find enjoyable. All things considered though, I do congratulate you on being such a resourceful person! Your suggestions, although a bit insulting (which is unnecessary) at times, are appreciated. In closing, I would like to thank the Driscoll's for "The Wizard". I spent many hours there as a kid and it was good, clean, fun. It was a place we could "hang out" with our friends no matter what the weather. I think everyone my age went there when it was open. I was sorry to see it close, but I have great memories of friends and good times spent there. Maybe it's time for another "Wiz" in Ketchikan. Danyel Pitner
