Washington One Way

Whether it was Tom, Lew or Marty's
idea about eliminating the One Way section of Washington Street,
it is way overdue in any case. I'm not sure the reason for it
in the first place, I assume it was a throwback to the days when
there was a skating rink there, but that's been gone for 30 years
or so. There's already a traffic light at the intersection, one
could easily be added facing uphill. It would also have the added
benefit of freeing up exit from the parking lot at the corner
of Washington and Tongass Avenue. No more having to exit uphill,
left on 1st to Jefferson in order to make a turn South on Tongass.
