Dana Barr is a single mom with a couple of kids who was recently diagnosed with cancer. She's currently in Seattle for radiation, gamma knife surgery and chemotherapy. As is so typical of Ketchikan, the community has already jumped into action to help with cash flow for the family. 1) This Sunday Feb. 27 from noon to 5 p.m., Shear Magic is offering $25 haircuts, and chair massages for the donation of your choice, with proceeds going to Dana. 2) A St. Patrick's Day spaghetti dinner is scheduled Thursday March 17 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the Kayhi Commons, sponsored by Big Brothers Big Sisters, with help from NorQuest Seafoods. Donations are $8 for individuals and $25 for families. 3) Contributions may also be
donated directly to Dana's bank account: Many thanks to all of you who have already contributed something, as well as in advance to those who can pencil the above dates onto your calendar. Ketchikan has a huge heart and your support is so appreciated. Dana also has an amazing attitude and your healing thoughts and prayers for her are as important, or more so, than a contribution. Please keep her in your hearts. Heidi Ekstrand
