Electors of Ketchikan, you can not drink a $38.5 million dollar dock expansion, the bond should read, "Approve $38.5 million Fresh Water Infiltration System for Safe Drinking Water". How will residents pay for all your new taxes, new bond debt and new property taxes if they or we are dying of cancer? Tourism will survive in Ketchikan without a new expanded dock. I have a question? What are people drinking and cooking with? Bottled water? We don't need 6.5 miles of new road on Pennock Island or miles of new roads on Gravina Island. Look at who is proposing these ideas, people with conflict of interests. They are the same few people that were pushing the bridge to nowhere. It is another con job on residents of Ketchikan, State of Alaska and the American taxpayer. They are saying it would only cost $36 million dollars compared to $315 million dollars for a bridge. The priority should be the Local, State and Federal Governments to fix the drinking water problem first. It rains 200 inches a year in Ketchikan area. I don't understand why we have bad drinking water. I subscribe to Ketchikan Daily News, read Juneau Empire News and Sitnews online. I have not read anything about solving the drinking water that in my opinion is [allegedly] causing cancer. I find that disturbing that your local politicians don't make your drinking water safe. In closing, tell your Borough Assembly, City Council, State Representatives and Federal Representatives that you want safe drinking water in Ketchikan. Vote no on any projects until your drinking water is fixed. You're killing me! This is my own opinion. Don Hoff Jr.
