I would like to take the opportunity to thank June again for
such a wonderful article. This time about my grandfather!!
I even learned a few things that I didn't know about him. He
was a wonderful man, and sorely missed by his family. His work
ethic has been passed down not only to my mother, but to me and
my sister and brother. I have to share a bit of additional information.
The bike my grandfather is pictured riding, was also ridden
by my father in parades, and a smaller version was ridden by
me. I have fond memories of those bikes and learning to ride
the smaller version. I even remember my mother making me a special
patriotic dress to go with the Uncle Sam suit my father wore.
My grandfather did many wonderful things here in Ketchikan,
and his legacy continues with my mother and the rest of the family.
Thanks again June for the walk down memory lane.
