Open Letter To Governor Palin
regarding the Gravina Access Highway
By Heather Hollowell
February 20, 2007
Tuesday PM
Dear Governor Palin:
I am writing to encourage you to do away with the Gravina Access
Highway. At about $8 million per mile of public money, this is
a fiscal mistake. After your statements regarding the bridge
and the presumed difficulty of funding with money that would
otherwise go to maintenance and safety improvements here and
around the state, the Gravina project simply isn t needed. I
urge you to reconsider the contract rushed by the Murkowski administration
(in similar fashion to the Juneau pioneer road), and do away
with a bad project propped up by taxpayers.
Sincerely,
Heather Hollowell
