"Thanks"
By Jerry Cegelske

Sunday AM
This week I drove the North Tongass Highway and observed that
someone had graciously taken their time to pick up the trash
in the ditches along the road from about Mile 12 to Higgins Spur
where I turned off (and maybe beyond that).
I do not know who did it but I would like to say "Thank
you for your service to Ketchikan!"
I tried to get it cleaned up last year but it snowed the night
before the clean-up was scheduled and when it was rescheduled
there wasn't much of a turnout as Mother's day was the next day.
I had gotten complaints about it but hadn't gotten the help to
clean it up.
I asked an individual that lives on N. Tongass if he cleaned
it up. He replied that he didn't but that it looked very nice
now. I hope it can stay that way.
