The rockslide Tuesday morning closed both lanes of traffic for
several hours.
There were no injuries reported
in the incident, but a house located above the slide remains
close to a slope's edge. According to Nick Farstad of DOT&PF,
the house is not in danger of falling onto the road.
A local contractor was contacted
to assist the DOT&PF maintenance and operations crew with
clearing the road to make it passable. The Ketchikan Police Department
and Alaska State Troopers also responded.
