What inspired me? The simple fact that folks never gave up on this much needed infrastructure. I have a dream, a vision for Ketchikan. I long for the day that we again have a year-round stable economy. A day we have in place the infrastructure to support new growth: water and sewer services to North and South Tongass, a bridge to Gravina Island, a day that I can shop "downtown" year-round, our community will recognize the commercial fishing industries importance to Ketchikan's economy and work hard to continue its presence, the harbors will be maintained, KayHi athletics becomes part of the Southeast Region as a whole and not just Ketchikan v. Juneau, we can use the Alaska Marine Highway System as our highway with good schedules, our kids can stay in Ketchikan and earn a living. We now have in place fiber
optics. This could be the impetus for new business in our
community. Perhaps it is time for our leaders to begin
looking forward to the future, envision the dreams, and set plans
for bringing them to fruition. Let's stop seeing our future
in the rear view mirror. Let's get inspired! Ketchikan
is a great place to live and work and tomorrow it can be
even better! About: Long-time Alaskan, Raised
