Ketchikan, Alaska - The North Tongass Fire Department and Ketchikan
Fire Department hosted a 48-hour Paramedic refresher course February
15th - 20th.
Students learn effective
airway management skills on a training mannequin.

The 6-day course started on February 15 & 16 with Dr. Barbara
(BJ) Coopes and Dr. Nola McManus from Providence Medical Center
in Anchorage presenting the two-day "Pediatric Education
for Pre-Hospital Professionals" course.
On February 17 & 18 Paramedic
Instructors Johnathon Larsen and Norm Nedel from Seattle Medic-One
presented advanced airway and cardiac care classes.
The final two days (February
19 & 20) were spent with Paramedic Instructor Anjela Johnson
of SEREMS, Local Physicians and Surgeons; Dr. Mark Raine, Dr.
Guy Burman, Dr. Bruce Schwartz and Dr. William Anthes presenting
various materials regarding pre-hospital patient care and management
to the students.
