(SitNews) Ketchikan, Alaska - Five individuals have filed applications with the Ketchikan School District for the open seat on the Board of Education.

The applicants will be interviewed by the School Board on Wednesday, February 9, 2011, beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the Borough Assembly Chambers.

The candidates are (in alphabetical order by last name):

Misty Dawn Archibald
Stephen Bradford
Rich Gray
Gregg McNeil
Glen Thompson                                       

Those wishing to provide input regarding the applicants may do so in writing or during the public comment period at the regular meeting on February 9.

The individual appointed to the Board will serve until the October 2011 municipal elections.

The deadline for applications was 4 p.m. Wednesday, February 2, 2011.
