So if a company or business wants to charge you an extra 3-4% surcharge on goods and services when you purchase anything... food, gas or any everyday item they can with impunity. There are ten states that have banned such surcharges to make sure the everyday consumers doesn't pay for those hidden charges. They are Colorado, California, Connecticut, Florida, Kansas, Maine, Massachusetts, New York, Oklahoma and Texas. If this is something all fellow Alaskans want I would stress call your state congressman in the legislature and express your displeasure that Alaska has not joined those ten states in banning this backdoor way of siphoning more money from us. Contact info for your legislature representative can be found at... Marvin Seibert About: "Soon to be a residence of beautiful Ketchikan." Received February 01, 2013 - Published February 02, 2013
