18 Trillion Debt By A.M. Johnson February 18, 2014
Let me digress a moment. When you listen to the political banter of both Democrats and Republicans, bot decry national debt. Well we have national debt so who really wants to reduce or strive to eliminate it? Neither. It is all about "WHO" spends the money. Period. Back to the "Murky" voting issue: Prior to this vote to raise the debt limits, A Senator Cruz (R), the bane of the Established Republicans, which Senator Murkowski is a proud RINO member, became upset that Senator Cruz was and did propose a vote to invoke cloture which a procedure that requires 60 votes to pass legislation. Without cloture, the Democrats can pass legislation with a party line vote. With cloture, the requirement of 60 votes requires RINO Republicans to cross over and vote with the Democrats. As Senator Murkowski is considered a "Pocket Vote" by the Democrats she knew she would voted as one of the Republicans TO raise the debt limit given that option. That's the cloture vote. The vote on the final bill itself, which was academic once the filibuster was defeated, went strict party-line at 55-43. In other words, every one of the 12 RINO Republicans (Murkowski) who helped Democrats advance a clean debt-ceiling hike turned around and voted no on the meaningless final vote to provide themselves with a fig leaf once conservatives start attacking them as sellouts. RINO Senator Murkowski (R) voted against Senator Cruz (R) to stand with the Democrats thereby allowing her to vote against the debt limit with a worthless vote as the Democrats then had the votes to pass it without RINO Murkowski's vote. Try to remember when 2016 rolls around. It took a whole lot of bipartisanship to get us $17 and soon, 18 trillion dollars into debt. Regards, A.M.Johnson Editor's Note:
