GAS PRICE: THE EXTENT OF THE RIP-OFF THIS WEEK
By David G Hanger

Saturday AM
Talked to the ex- on the phone a few days ago. The price of gasoline in San Antonio is now $1.60 a gallon and still falling. What that means is the price of gasoline dropped 40 cents a gallon in the first three weeks of January. In Arkansas the price is down to $1.56.
How much graft do we in Ketchikan have to endure? Monopolies are the antithesis of free enterprise, and are thus as corrupt as one can get. I reckon at this juncture the only thing that remains to be determined is who is more corrupt. Is it the fuel wholesaler who, in my opinion, steals from every one, or is it the non-responsive government that is purportedly responsible for keeping monopolists off our backs?
