Trading Workers for Bureaucrats?

I was just wondering if this proposed move of the Alaska Marine
Highway Administration from Juneau to Ketchikan, at significant
expense to Borough taxpayers, will turn into a case of trading
in working jobs for bureaucrats? How many ferry workers here
in Ketchikan will lose their jobs when the ferry MV Taku is placed
in lay-up?
Are these the same paper pushers who made the decision to layup
the MV Taku, sell the MV Bartlett, and sharply cut winter ferry
service? Where is the concern of the Borough Assembly over the
impact of these decisions?
Perhaps if a few more bureaucrats in the Marine Highway Administration
were placed in lay off, we could keep the MV Taku running and
more current Ketchikan based crew members employed.
