Ugliest Photo Contest!
By Robert D. Warner

The Sitnews' cover photographs usually display many beautiful aspects of the Ketchikan community.  We can often enjoy the wildlife of Ward Lake, the snowcapped top of Deer Mountain, or the wide variety of ships, boats, and ferries on Tongass Narrows.  Sunrises and sunsets are always special; historic photographs provide valuable insights into Ketchikan's pioneer days.

Your photo on Thursday, March 2nd, showing the proposed Ketchikan Bridge to Nowhere, however, was quite a shocker.  I had no idea how ugly that bridge would be as one looks from the south side north towards Ketchikan.  It is amazing how much of the awesome beauty of Ketchikan area would be destroyed by that grotesque eyesore.

Perhaps this photo could be entered into a "ugliest photo" contest!
