Ketchikan Mental Health Services
By Carol Alley

Our silence as a community regarding the lack of adequate mental
health and substance abuse services is deafening. Those most
in need likely lack the ability to voice this concern for themselves.
Those providing services in our community, and the ancillary
staff working with them, find themselves overworked and under-appreciated.
Can we dialogue as a community
how to better provide these needed services? Can we show appreciation
for those heroes who help us when we feel so alone? Who might
be there to catch us if we fall, in our future?
Let us not be silent.
