Dear Ken, and everyone else who doesn't know that a trillion
dollars is not what you think it is.
OK, a little math lesson, a million is a million, a billion is
actually a million millions not a thousand millions. (see zeros)
1,000,000.00 (a million) 1,000,000,000,000,000.00 (a billion)
1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000.00 (a trllion) a billion is
two full sets of a million each, a trillion is three full sets
of a million each.
A further illustration: 1,000 (a thousand); 10,000 (ten thousand)
100,000 (a hundred thousand) 1,000,000 ( a million) 10,000,000
(ten million) 100,000,000 (a hundred million) 1,000,000,000 (a
thousand million) 10,000,000,000 (ten thousand million) 100,000,000,000
( a hundred thousand million) etc., ad nauseum (sp). And fro
a trillion you get to do the whole thing over, only with billions.
Please do not argue the point with me in this column, look it
up in an English language dictionary. I don't mean a pocket dictionary
either, I mean one of those that sits on a stand, weighs about
20 lbs, and had every fact known to man.
Yours in correct verbiage,
