Big numbers

OK, I won't argue with Mr. McGillvray, but for the edification
of the rest of those perusing this column, in America a billion
is 1 followed by nine zeros, a trillion is 1 followed by twelve
zeros.
I can only surmise that Mr.
McGillvray 's twenty pound tome that rests on a stand was either
printed in Great Britain or hails from an era when America was
using the British system.
