PFD Operations Manager Dan DeBartolo encourages applicants to file online, "Our online application is faster and easier to use than ever. Simply go to www.pfd.alaska.gov to file and receive immediate confirmation that your application was successfully completed." As of March 18, nearly 467,000 Alaskans had applied online. Every Alaskan can apply online for their 2010 PFD, and Alaskans who received a dividend last year can choose to sign their PFD application electronically through myAlaska©. Online applications must be issued a confirmation number by 11:59:59 PM, March 31, Alaska Standard Time (AST) to be considered timely. Online applications that have not received a confirmation number by the time the website shuts down at 12:00 AM, April 1, 2010, will not be accepted. On Wednesday, March 31, 2010, hand delivered applications will be accepted at all Dividend Offices between 10 AM and 4:30 PM AST. Mailed applications must be postmarked on or before March 31, 2010. Paper applications are available at distribution sites throughout the state. To find one of these locations simply go to the website at www.pfd.alaska.gov, and look for the "distribution center" link near the middle of the home page. Applicants needing assistance finding a distribution site should call one of our division offices -- 465-2326 (Juneau), 269-0370 (Anchorage), and 451-2820 (Fairbanks). The Division provides a toll-free number 1-800-733-8813 for recorded information and answers to frequently asked questions. In response to applicant feedback, the Alaska Department of Revenue announced that eligible applicants will receive 2010 dividends beginning October 7, 2010 whether they selected direct deposit or a paper check. Applicants who select direct deposit can opt to receive their 1099 statement electronically this year. Source of News:
