No New Ketchikan Herring Spawn

An aerial survey was conducted Wednesday morning at 6:00 am.
According to information released by the Alaska Department of
Fish & Game, no new herring spawn was mapped Wednesday morning.
There was no fishing announced for Wednesday.
Tuesday four gillnet samples
were taken in the area. ADF&G reported no immature roe in
the samples.
The R/V Kestrel has left the
Ketchikan area to begin herring spawn dive surveys in the Craig/Klawock
area. ADF&G will be using the F/V Barbara K for the duration
of the season in the West Behm Canal area.
An aerial survey was planned
for Wednesday afternoon, however no information is available
regarding if it was completed not the results, if any.
An aerial survey is planned
for Thursday morning at approximately 6:00 am. Quoting a news
release, the ADF&G will update the fishing fleet by 8:00
am.
