Ketchikan Herring Fishery Aerial Surveys Continue
Fishery Not On A 2-Hour Notice

Ketchikan, AK - An aerial survey conducted Tuesday morning showed approximately 1 mile of active spawn observed between Smugglers Bay and Bond Bay. Two commercial gillnet

samples were obtained from this spawn.

According to information provided by the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, the department will continue to monitor this spawn and determine the amount and quality of fish involved. Another aerial survey was scheduled for 4:00 pm Tuesday and one is scheduled at 6:00 am Wednesday.

Alaska Department of Fish and Game stated in a release Tuesday that the fishery has not been placed on 2-hour notice.
