Perseverance Theatre On Tour

Ketchikan, Alaska - Perseverance Theatre is now touring its
original production entitled Alive in the Eddy, directed by Shona
Strauser. After a one-night only performance in Juneau on April
8 at the Alaska Native Brotherhood Hall, the ensemble and crew
of Alive in the Eddy began an Alaska tour - Beyond Heritage.

The group performed next in Ketchikan Saturday at the Ketchikan
High School auditorium. From Ketchikan they are scheduled to
perform in Wrangell on April 23rd at the Nolan Center and Fairbanks
on April 30th at the Centennial Center for the Arts.
Over the course of an hour-long
performance, Ishmael Hope, Lily Hudson, Ramiro Rivera and Allan
Hayton present an Alaska Native story interwoven with contemporary
stories through interviews with local community members. Included
in the performance are:
- Aak'wtaatseen, Salmon Boy,
a story from the Kiks.adi Tlingit clan about adventures and lessons
learned from the Salmon People;
- Audience interaction and community
involvement;
- Original Sand Hill Crane Dance
choreographed by Zoe Wells;
- The stories of today, through
interviews of real people.
