Bridge to nowhere

As a footnote to the background on how the phrase "Bridge
To Nowhere" came to put Ketchikan on the political map,
you may be interested to read an article published on the St.
Petersburg, Fla Times online site Tampabay.com by Bill Adair on April Fool's
day will give you an idea of how it came to pass that our town
got held up for ridicule as the Pork capital of the United States,
and subsequently brought down the Republican Party's rule of
Congress. Interesting stuff, regardless of how you stand on the
subject.
