Jim Elkins

Hi, my name is Taylor Gregg and I would like to say a few things
about Jim Elkins. I met Jim Elkins in 2005 on a trip to Juneau
with the Governor s Council on Disabilities & Special Education.
I liked him the first time I met him. He told me he supported
all issues related to people with disabilities. He agreed to
be a co-sponsor of the respectful language bill I wanted to see
passed and worked hard to see that happen.
After my first meeting with him he asked me if I wanted to be
a guest page on the floor of the House of Representatives. I
said yes and was able to do this on my next visit to Juneau.
This was a fun experience and I would not have been able to
do this without his help.
I visited him several times at the Capitol Building in Juneau.
He was always glad to see me and listen to my concerns.
I made him a get well card when I found out he had cancer to
let him know he was in my thoughts. I helped him with his campaign
when he ran for reelection last year and was disappointed that
he did not win.
I will miss him and I send sincere sympathy to his family.
