While I recognize this may seem a bit self-serving and that generally there is a reduction in support for continued U.S. military involvement in Afghanistan, I would ask that everyone please not forget the sacrifices being made in our countries name by the young men and women serving in uniform. Irrespective of your political philosophy these members of our armed forces sacrifice at the request of our government, which ultimately is composed of all our citizenry. As the father of a Marine, and a vet myself, I pray that all these young men and women come home safely soon. As a citizen of the United States I hope you can all find it in your heart to wish our armed service members well, honor their service and not forget the sacrifices being made. My family and I wish everyone in Ketchikan all the best, you have a great community do not ever forget it. Sincerely. Brian K. and Julie A. Schum About: "Father of 3.
