Annoying sign holders

Thank you to Marie Zelmer for your letter about the annoying sign holders on the corner. I cannot agree with you more. I found them to be ignorant and ill informed. Yes, they have a right to voice their opinions, even if they are wrong. However, saying that Roe v. Wade allows women to "murder" unborn children is totally ridiculous. It is the law that women have a choice to carry this unwanted child, or to abort this fetus that has not developed into a child yet. It is the choice of the pregnant woman. Period.
I'm sorry for anyone who has had to carry an unwanted child. My sister had a
baby when she was 17. She had a loving caring family to support her. Had abortion been legal then, she would have ended the pregnancy as soon as she found out - before the fetus developed more. Instead, she was forced to quit school and when she returned to school, it was in a different area of town where no one knew her. This was during the days of "illegitimate" children when women were shamed if they got pregnant before marriage. Many women died of infections from back alley coat hanger abortions, or by their own hand.
I am thankful that women have a choice these days. I will fight to have your laws kept off of women's bodies.
