Completeing an anti-abortion thought By Marie Zellmer April 22, 2014
I used the word idiotic, to mean someone who is not using reason and is self-defeating. I must say that the description is accurate so far. I would like to reiterate that not every woman is capable of having a child. I have never said that because a child might be deformed it should be aborted, nor have I said that abortion should be taken lightly. With the news talking about what makes a medically necessary abortion, so that it may be covered under the health care act, it is easy to become lost in one rhetoric or another. Modern religion may dictate that abortion is murder, even if it will save a mother's life, and science may say that abortion should be used to control populations. I say all the variables are not black and white. I used to be very anti-abortion, especially when I did a report on it in high school and discovered the extremes of late term abortions (note I have not used the proper term "procedure"). So what changed my mind? I had to make the decision, and I had to live with whatever decision that I made. I did, I had an abortion to save myself from horrible pain and agony, and save my body for a healthy baby in the future. So am I wrong? Am I a murderer? I will let god judge, because I can't even squash a bug without being squeamish, and I can't eat a piece of meat or burn wood without giving thanks to the beings that died and the one who created them. So I will wait for God's decision. And I welcome anyone who wants to talk with me about this. I am not ashamed or shy, and I will not avoid tough situations just because someone doesn't agree with me. Marie Zellmer About: "20 year Ketchikan Resident."
