PeaceHealth Ketchikan announces new Chief Administrative Officer
April 09, 2020
Stevens has more than 30 years’ experience in healthcare leadership, most recently as the chief executive officer at Sutter Delta Medical Center in Antioch, California. She was with Sutter Delta for fifteen years, also serving as director of nursing and certified nursing educator. Stevens began her career in healthcare as a registered nurse, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from California State University. She later went on to earn her Master of Business Administration from University of Phoenix. In addition, Stevens furthered her professional development with courses in Bioethics from the University of Washington and the completion of Lean Training. Stevens is excited about joining PeaceHealth Ketchikan. “I was so impressed with the caregivers in Ketchikan. I observed the care and compassion of this team and can’t wait to be a part of it. The board members and the community were also very dedicated and committed to their local hospital, like none I have ever worked with before.” Familiar with island life, having spent a decade in Honolulu where she was executive director at St. Francis Medical Center, Steven’s understanding of geographically remote and culturally diverse communities prepares her to meet the challenges of caring for southern Southeast Alaska. Stevens joins PeaceHealth Ketchikan as health systems across the country face the challenges presented by Covid-19 and as the virus impacts the Ketchikan community. She will approach this stressful time in healthcare as leader of a united team. “I am a servant leader. I plan to assist any way I can during this very difficult time. Together we will all get through it.”
