Public Smoking Discussion

The fact that we are all discussing the issue of public smoking
is a good thing even if we are having sharp disagreements over
limiting smoking in some places. While personal rights are an
important part of our society it is also important for society
to decide what rights can or should be limited for the betterment
of all.
Here's a situation I think we can all agree on:
On Thursday, I was driving through town enjoying a rare sunny
day. I noticed a young blond woman (I would guess about 16 or
17) walking with her baby in one of those "snuggly"
contraptions that holds the baby to the parent's chest. The young
woman - like a depressingly large number of other teens - was
puffing away, and the smoke was going right into the baby's face.
You ever just want to walk right up to someone and shake them?
By the time I turned the car around, she was nowhere to be seen.
If we can't come up with a way to prevent that sort of thing
from ever happening again, then unfortunately as a society we
are just blowing smoke.
