Road to the Mainland

As I have mentioned before I think that a road to the mainland
would be great. However, I would not advocate getting rid of
the Bellingham to Ketchikan ferry or any of the ferry runs in
that matter. A road to the mainland would surely open the Ketchikan
area up, however; there are a lot of people who do enjoy the
ride up on the ferry, possibly who would not want to drive. There
are also many people especially in the summer who are foot traffic.
There are a lot of tourists who come up and do the hiking, kayak,
and camping thing. There are also those who come up for work,
and the ferry is a big resource. Recently Canada is making it
difficult for Americans to enter their country if they have a
blemish on their record (including DUI) so the ferry is always
going to be necessary.
Otherwise I would like to thank
those of you who comment on Sitnews concerning the bridge, this
is only one way to make our voices heard.
