Mr. Stenfjord was a wonderful
man who did much for his community that was frequently overlooked.
He and his wife would walk every morning and pick up trash along South Tongass as they walked making it more beautiful for all of us. As I would drive by in a school bus every morning they always had a smile and wave for me. Maybe he didn't do anything that would capture the attention of the world but he made a difference in my life and I'm sure, the lives of many others in Ketchikan. John Stenfjord made his mark and will be missed. My heartfelt condolences go to his wife and family. Anita Hales About: Anita Hales writes, "Resident of Ketchikan since 1965. Kayhi graduate.
