"Getting" vs "The
Buck Stops Here"

Regarding Anita Hales' letter: I remember a President who had
a sign on his desk that stated "the buck stops here".
Now I read you stating "There seems to be a general attitude
these days of "getting" the responsible parties and
making them pay." I think I preferred the "old"
attitude of "the buck stops here" where a person/entity
responsible for a mistake didn't have to be "gotten"
but 'fessed up, and corrected his/her mistake.
