Good try Jimmy Carter! By Mark Neckameyer
 May 22, 2007Tuesday
So Jimmy Carter calls President Bush our "worst ever President"?
Wow! I am, unfortunately, old enough to remember those thirty
year ago days when out interest rates under President Jimmy zoomed
to 21% and more. I was a credit manager at the time and nobody
would pay their bills as to wait even a few weeks would bring
a big discount as our dollars cheapened. Iranian students held
our embassy in Teheran hostage and we could not do squat about
it but when we tried, our cash starved armed forces failed, our
defective helicopters crashed in the desert. Crime was up, the
dollar was down, inflation was up, number of folks on welfare
was way up and our best bomber, the B1 got cancelled to the Russians'
delight and depression ruled until the Gypper got elected in
      a landslide in 1980.

I can see why Jimmy Carter ... Good peanut farmer. Reasonably
fair engineer and good home builder/carpenter but awful President
is looking for a target ... For his legacy. He aspires to be
"Second to the Worst". Good try Jimmy, you're still
      it!
