You think gouging is there?
Try California. The cheapest I've found here in SoCal as of
today is 3.19 a gallon for regular unleaded. However, it will
vary sttreet corner to street corner, and proximity to the freeways.
It will range from 5 - 20 cents per gallon at similar brands.
We were in Kansas City a couple of month ago, and the gas was
