Sealaska Nobility & Decreased Dividend By Andre LeCornu May 20, 2013
ANCSA HAS BEEN DIVISIVE AND HAS CAUSED OUR PEOPLE CONSIDERABLE CONSTERNATION WITH REGARD TO ETHICS, STEWARDSHIP AND THE BUSINESS OF CORPORATE ENDEAVORS. WE HAVE A BLURRING OF LEADERSHIP ROLES. I saw where a writer compared Sealaska BOD to "nobility". The BOD is self serving with regard to discretionary votes and stipends and other benefits to the BOD. NOBILITY.? The true nobles of yesteryear would be ashamed of these buffoons. High class Natives were unselfish leaders. Sealaska has made terrible business decisions on our behalf. Sealaska "nobility" is nothing more than avaricious collusion. Where are the benefits to the shareholders? If we let our tribal rights go by the wayside, we are deserving of that awful name, Tribal member shareholder. And why not, you ask? After all, the President of Tlingit and Haida is a long term Sealaska Boardmember and is a staunch supporter of Sealaska's goals that are often at odds with tribal interests. Can one serve two masters? I think not. Andre LeCornu About: "Retired RN and Sealaska Shareholder" Received May 19, 2013 - Published May 20, 2013 Related Viewpoint:
