McIntyre Joins Creekside Family Health Clinic
May 29, 2016
Ms. McIntyre has a long health care career in Ketchikan and is likely a familiar personality to residents. She worked at Peace Health Ketchikan Medical Center from 1999 - 2013 starting as a CNA and completing her tenure as a registered nurse in the emergency room. She returned to school in 2009 and completed her master of nursing degree as a family nurse practitioner in 2013 from the Frontier School of Nursing and Midwifery located in Hyden, KY. For the past two years, she has worked as an FNP at the Ketchikan Indian Community Tribal Health Clinic. "My practice philosophy", says McIntyre "is based on treating each person with dignity and respect. I believe in listening attentively to my patients and individualizing their care." This means taking into account the medical, social, economic and cultural dimensions of patients and empowering them with appropriate information to make informed decisions regarding their care", according to McIntyre. “It is truly wonderful to be able to recruit local folks who have worked so hard to advance their careers and serve their community”, says Lani Hill, Family Nurse Practitioner and clinic owner, noting McIntyre's long-term commitment to caring for Ketchikan's residents. "It is truly an honor and privilege to work with her again". McIntyre previously spent a part of her student clinic rotation at Creekside back in 2013. The Creekside Family stated in a news release they are "excited to welcome Ms. McIntyre to the practice. Her addition to the team will further support the clinic's mission to provide patient care that is accessible, convenient and comprehensive."
