Searching for family and friends of
the deceased Joel Mehall

In October 1980 I got a letter signed Joseph Mehallic alias Joel Mehall. For some time we corresponded about the Normandy Campaign in 1944 in which he had taken part as a paratrooper in the famous 101st Airborne Division. Also called the Screaming Eagles. As years went by I lost contact with Joel. About 2008-2009 I started to try to find him and made a search on internet. Unfortunately, I found there an obituary for Joel.
I really regret that it took me so many years to finish my book which among many other stories tell Joel's experiences from those dramatic days in June 1944.
Joel was a most kind, unselfish and helpful man whom I had the pleasure to correspond with for quite some time. He gave me his story from when he parachuted into Normandy on the night between 5th and 6th June 1944 and through his participation in the Operation Market Garden in September same year.
In my first book, Normandie 1944. Bocage Normandies helvete, I have told his journey from D-day to Carentan. This book is now soon to be published in the USA.
In this connection I wonder if there can be any family or close friends of Joel in Ketchikan whom I could come in touch with. This would mean a lot to me.
If anybody should feel for it please contact me on email: arve@pisani.no or by regular mail on address: Arve Robert Pisani, Hovedveien 80, 3781 Jomfruland, Norway. You might also send me a SMS to cell phone no. +47 95 11 99 70.
Best Regards
