California Man Nets 56.8 Pound King

Ketchikan, Alaska: For California resident Jim Cavanaugh, Ketchikan proved it is the "Salmon Capital of the World" when he brought in a monster 56.8 pound King Salmon Saturday around Survey Point. Cavanaugh was fishing on the charter boat Hannah Rose along with Tom Koehm, also of California, when he caught this King.

Although this 56.8 pound King Salmon was caught too late to be entered in the 2004 King Salmon Derby which ended early June, this king-sized catch was prize enough!

The charter boat Hannah Rose runs out of Knudson Cove Marina which is approximately 15 miles north of downtown Ketchikan. The Hannah Rose is skippered by Jim Moody, a USCG certified Captain, who has more than fifteen years experience on these waters. Captain Moody is also the owner of First City Charters.
