The purpose of this memorandum is to remind citizens that by signing up for FlashAlert you will receive ‘real time’ text messages and/or email messages from the City of Ketchikan and/or KPU with up to date emergency information, news releases, power outages or other important information. 

Signing up is simple, free and takes just moments. 

You can subscribe by going to www.FlashAlert.net and sign up to receive information from either the City of Ketchikan, Ketchikan Public Utilities, or both.

Sign up information is also available on the City’s website at www.city.ketchikan.ak.us 

Additionally, the City of Ketchikan has activated an information telephone line 225-INFO (4636) where notices to the public relative to power outages, road closures and other service affecting issues will be posted.  This line will have recorded updates as often as needed.  It is important to note that this is NOT a number to call to report an emergency or utilities outage, rather the purpose of this line is for callers to obtain recorded information and updates.
